The history of Military Road is the subject of a presentation by Karen Meador on Tuesday, June 30 at Wesley Homes Des Moines in The Terrace Auditorium. Military Road is not just a run-of-the-mill arterial, as most residents of South King County know. It’s a road that meanders on its own way south and north, connecting various important parts of the region and providing scenic views of the valley as it goes along. Karen Meador wants us to realize that it also has its own history as well.
Meador, a board member of the Association of King County Historical Organizations, will be with us on Tuesday, June 30th to give an illustrated talk titled “Military Road: A Lasting Legacy”. This is the title of a brochure for which Meador was named the winner of the Association of King County Historical Organizations Long Term Project Award. She has also written works for Pacific Northwest Magazine, The Tukwila Reporter and Columbia: The Magazine of Northwest History. The results of her research should be both entertaining and informative for all residents of this area.
The program will be in the The Terrace Auditorium beginning at 7 o’clock on Tuesday, June 30th. RSVPs are not required.
