Sewing with Purpose = Comfort for Kids

Once again our Wesley Homes Lea Hill residents demonstrated that sometimes even the most simple things can have long lasting impact. Of course, if you've ever tried to sew a decorative pillowcase you know they are far from simple to make. In partnership with Auburn YMCA, and Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, about 30 of our resident seamstresses contributed hundreds of hours to give kids a little extra comfort. It took this dedicated group one month to make more than 200 pillowcases for children who are patients at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. Addtional information and a picture of a few of these talented volunteers can be found at auburnreporter.com. It's easy to imagine how much these young patients must love their custom made pillowcases. Thank you, ladies, for providing such a simple, yet meaningful, gift for these children!
