The Loving Life Series

Free up your present by planning for your future. By offering informative and educational events to the broader community, Wesley Homes wants to be your resource for services and information on aging solutions. With our spring Loving Life Series, Wesley Homes is reaching out to baby boomers with information on topics beyond the typical ones. “We intend to place emphasis on normalizing the aging process so boomers know what to expect and can recognize when they or their family members need more help with activities of daily living,” said Wesley Homes Director of Outreach Bernie Dorsey. “We’ll present this information in a way that encourages people to embrace and plan for these inevitable changes.” Our Loving Life Series kicks off with a two-part partnership with AARP of Washington called Decide.Create.Share.SM.  This national campaign focuses on boomer-age women and is framed around living smarter and living longer. The final installment of our spring series is about how families can have “caring conversations” presented by Dick Edwards, author of “Mom, Dad…Can We Talk?” Mr. Edwards has over 35 years of experience working closely with older adults and their families. For the past 20 years, he served as administrator of Charter House, a nationally recognized model for excellence in retirement living and long-term health care affiliated with the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. “This topic is quite relevant to boomers and the sandwich generation since it provides people with the skills needed to engage our parents in discussions that matter,” said Bernie. Look for more information in the April and May editions of eWesley. “The Loving Life Series addresses the issues that we will all experience in the future in one way or another,” said Bernie. “The information you get from this series will actually free you up to live life to its fullest, knowing that your plan is in place, and you are as prepared as you can be for the season ahead.”
