Tree of Lights Campaign 2008
Traditionally, funds raised by Tree of Lights supported the Circle of Concern fund and provided financial assistance to residents in Des Moines. Today, the need is greater! Tree of Lights now supports two campuses, Des Moines and Lea Hill, and a growing number of residents. In 2007, over $260,000 was needed to provide financial assistance to Wesley Homes' residents. This year, and in 2009, that need is expected to rise. Resident assistance programs provide more than financial assistance. They allow for our residents, and their family members, to live without fear of what will happen if they out live their retirement savings. We are asking you to help us continue to support our residents this holiday season by making a gift to Wesley Homes Foundation.
Your gift will help: • A 91 year old resident who has lived at Wesley for over 20 years who has outlived her savings. • A 10 year resident who recently lost her husband and the benefits of his retirement income. • A 13 year resident with a medical crisis that is depleting his savings.
Your gift can be designated to support either of our resident assistance funds. Circle of Concern was one of Wesley Homes’ first philanthropic funds and has inspired many donors to help to meet the rising need of financial assistance on our Des Moines campus. The Lea Hill Resident Assistance Fund was created in 2005 to meet the anticipated needs of our Lea Hill residents in Auburn. The fund is growing but still needs your help to make financial assistance possible, especially in today’s economic climate.
Please join us in celebrating the Wesley Homes’ community and mission by making a generous gift to Wesley Homes Foundation this holiday season. Gifts can be mailed to Wesley Homes Foundation, 815 S. 216th Street, Des Moines, WA 98198. For more information, please call me at 206-870-1331.
Happy Holidays,
Kari Keller Executive Director, Wesley Homes Foundation
PS: Gifts of any size are appreciated and help us provide the highest level of care for all of our residents.
